Bringing Down the House:
How'd They Do It?
Learn firsthand the story that has led to a New York
Times bestseller, a soon-to-be released major motion
picture, and the Blackjack Institute. Card counters have
tried their hand at beating the house at blackjack since Ed
Thorp published his groundbreaking book, Beat the Dealer, in
the early 1960s. But it wasn’t until an ingenious and
aggressive group of students from MIT came up with a plan to
hit Atlantic City casinos in the early 1980s, which led to
the team's dramatic expansion and incredible success in Las
Vegas in the 1990's. Come hear their story Thursday,
